As a wedding photographer, I’m lucky enough to be part of so many incredible love stories, and Claire and Matt’s wedding at Southend Barns was no exception. From the moment I arrived, I could tell it was going to be a day full of laughter, love, and some unforgettable moments. Southend Barns, with its rustic charm and gorgeous surroundings, provided the perfect backdrop for Claire and Matt’s celebration.

Southend Barns is one of those places that instantly feels like home. Nestled in the countryside, the venue offers an idyllic mix of rustic elegance, with its beautiful barn and stunning grounds. For Claire, it was love at first sight. She adored everything about the venue, especially the alpacas! If you’ve ever visited Southend Barns, you know that the alpacas are one of its most endearing features. Claire couldn’t get enough of them, and they were more than happy to pose for a few photos with the newlyweds.

The First Dance & Matt's Musical Surprise

After a heartwarming ceremony, the evening took a fun and personal turn when Matt, who is also a talented musician, took to the stage with his band. As the first dance wrapped up, Matt switched from groom to rock star, grabbing his guitar and joining his bandmates for an amazing set. It was such a cool and unique touch to the wedding, and you could feel the energy in the room as everyone danced and sang along to some of Matt’s favorite songs.

One of my favorite things about working with Claire and Matt was how up for anything they were when it came to photos. Claire, in particular, was open to all of my crazy ideas, and I’m so grateful for that! Whether it was running through the fields, posing with the alpacas, or trying some fun offbeat shots, they were both game. That kind of trust and excitement made my job so much fun and helped capture moments that were unique to their personalities.
